Apple's Make in India is going cold: Chinese engineers and technicians are being recalled in a firestorm!

July 3, according to foreign media reports, Apple's manufacturing in India is in crisis as Chinese engineers and technicians are recalled.

The report mentioned that Apple's efforts to expand iPhone production in India have suffered a setback as Foxconn has recalled hundreds of Chinese engineers and technicians from its Indian factories.

According to people familiar with the matter, Foxconn has recalled a large number of Chinese workers previously stationed at its iPhone manufacturing plant in southern India, a process that began about two months ago and has seen more than 300 Chinese employees leave.

These were mainly engineers and technicians responsible for supporting site operations, many of whom played a central role in training local Indian workers and optimising production processes.

Previously Cook has said that the expertise of Chinese assembly workers is a central reason why they still occupy a central position in Apple's supply chain.

While the return of Chinese engineers from India is not expected to have a significant impact on the quality of iPhones produced in the country, one source said the lack of experienced Chinese employees could reduce the operational efficiency of the assembly line.

It remains to be seen whether Indian factories can maintain Apple's strict quality and efficiency standards without the direct involvement of Chinese engineers.
